“Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful” is the famous quote from one of the most iconic investors of all time, Warren Buffet.   Now I want you as an individual to take in the enormity of this statement, because it can be applied to daily life and is not just about investing in money, it is applicable to the value that you create in your life.  Think of this as a test where you determine your own positivity score.

The first step is to answer the question, “Are you fearful now in your life?  Is the world creating its own noise of pressures on you?   This could include the never ending feed of daily negative press or the general living circumstances that you may not be in control of.  If you are fearful, then you can open up the conversation to yourself and your close circle of family or friends why you are fearful.

The second question you must ask is “How do I be greedy in my behaviours and go after life with the positivity that will deliver the value I crave?   The word ‘greedy” is not meant to have negative meaning in this instance, but one to help motivate an individual to sort their own personal view of happiness and to start trying to obtain it.  This could be feeling better for what you currently have or what you aspire to in the future.

Answering these two questions truthfully gets a person on the path to positivity.  There should be no doubt that whatever your current situation is, your life has value and it can only get better if you work on those deeply personal behaviours that come from introspection of what you fear.

But Warren Buffet was not done in describing the stage for pursuing the path of positivity in search of a better quality of life.   His quote, “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you’ll drift in that direction.”  This is a very prophetic statement that needs to be taken to heart.  Imagine if your set of relationships or activities are only there to give you positivity and support.  By removing toxicity in your life then the opportunities for you achieving your goals become so much greater.   The final step is make that list of individuals that will support, mentor and comfort you if you fail on your road to joy.  Make sure this group of key individuals know where you are headed. When you look back on these positive actions you will not believe how far you have come.
